Solar Cell

A Solar Cell, or Photovoltaic Cell, is an electrical tool that converts the energy of sunlight directly into electricity with the help of photovoltaic effect, which is a chemical and physical phenomenon.

Solar Cells are described as Photovoltaic or PV cell, irrespective of whether the source is sunlight or artificial light. They are also used as a photodetector (for example UV detectors), detecting light and other electromagnetic radiation near the visible range, intensity or measuring light.

When a solar cell was invented?

The first solar panel cell was invented in 1941.

In 1839, Alexandre Edmond Becquerel discovered the photovoltaic effect—that is, the ability to create an electric current from the sun’s rays. Shortly after, Russell Ohl invented the first solar panel cell in 1941 and the first commercial panel was put out by Bell Laboratories in 1954.

The operation of a Photovoltaic or PV cell requires three basic attributes:

  • The absorption of light, generating either electron-hole pairs or excitons.
  • The separation of charge carriers of opposite types.
  • The separate extraction of those carriers to an external circuit.

What is Tubular Battery?

IB Solar has launched its solar flooded tubular battery systems designed to offer reliable, consistent and low maintenance power for renewable energy requirements. These batteries can be subject to deep cycle applications and minimum maintenance in rural and power deficit area. Solar storage Battery has high acid reservoir resulting in the reduced need for water top-up even in extreme environmental conditions. The batteries have the capacity to withstand a partial state of charge (PSOC) operation. Our Sunlight Battery is available in 12 volts from 20ah to 150 Ah @ c10 at 27c.

Lead Acid Battery

Our lead-acid battery uses sponge lead and lead peroxide for the conversion of the chemical energy into electrical power. Our lead-acid batteries are most commonly used in the power stations and substations because of its higher cell voltage and lower cost.
